Read Together Tutoring offers tailored dyslexia support sessions for children, both in person and online. Utilizing the Orton-Gillingham Approach and other evidence-based strategies, I help children overcome reading, spelling, and writing difficulties associated with dyslexia.
The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a scientifically-proven method designed specifically for children with dyslexia and related learning challenges. This approach focuses on multisensory instruction, incorporating visual, auditory, and tactile senses to create an engaging learning experience for your child. Each session is structured, diagnostic, prescriptive, systematic, and personalized to meet the unique needs of your child.
In addition to supporting children with dyslexia, I am also available to help any child struggling with reading and spelling, or those not progressing at the expected rate for their grade or age level.
Together, we can unlock your child's potential and improve their learning journey.
Before working with your child, we will schedule a phone call to discuss services for your child. We will cover any concerns or questions you may have. It is also a time to get to know your child and gain insights into your child's specific challenges. I will discuss the next steps for assessment and subsequent interventions and provide an overview of the program and its structure.
During our initial session(s), I will conduct various assessments to determine the needs of your child. I will assess your child's phonemic awareness, spelling proficiency, handwriting skills, reading fluency and reading comprehension. This evaluation will serve as a benchmark for tailoring future sessions. The assessment process typically spans from one to two sessions..
Your child will receive Orton-Gillingham instruction during sessions lasting between 45 and 60 minutes. The frequency of sessions per week will be tailored to the unique needs and skill level of each child. To keep you informed about your child's progress, you will receive monthly updates discussing the improvements made and any adjustments needed in the program.
